I am a licensed clinical social worker and I’m glad that you have taken the important step to prioritize your mental health care. I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma and fear of change. Life can be difficult and at times, we may experience traumatic events that can have a lasting impact on our lives. These experiences can affect many areas of our lives, such as self-esteem, relationships, and ability to cope with stress. I approach each session with empathy, compassion, and patience. I am here to help you work through challenging issues and connect with your inner strength and resilience. Together we’ll create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions and learn effective coping skills. My approach is collaborative and tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. I incorporate trauma-informed modalities to ensure that the therapeutic environment is safe, nurturing, and empowering. I honor my client’s trust by providing a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where you can be seen, heard, and supported. Whether you are looking to improve your relationships, manage your anxiety, or navigate a difficult life transition, I am here to support you on your journey. Thank you for considering me as your therapist, I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
The first session is primarily intake and rapport building, not a deep dive therapy session. We will cover logistics and confidentiality, gather information and set goals. This session lets you evaluate whether you feel safe and understood by your therapist. There is no pressure to share everything immediately.
My focus is client centered. My therapeutic approach is a blend of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution Focus Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Spirituality. Additionally, I am EMDR trained and a certified life coach, which allows me to provide a holist approach to my client’s healing journey.
I am dedicated to helping my clients identify and achieve their goals, using compassion, humor, and empowerment. I specialize in the areas of life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, veteran, elder and women’s issues. I bring over thirty years of Social Work experience with various populations in a variety of medical and mental health settings. I can work effectively with a variety of individuals. I use a client-centered, goal oriented, integrative approach utilizing CBT techniques to challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. I also use a trauma informed approach and mindfulness.
