(she/her)
Have you struggled to move forward in your life, relationships or career? Are you children challenged in school or leaving home? My career has been focused on helping people of all ages improve their mental and physical well-being. I’ve spent more than 25 years in mental health care, both at UCSF’s Department of Psychiatry, the San Francisco VA, and in private practice. I’m well-versed in evidence-based treatment and working with people to feel better. I believe strongly that people are resilient and with the right kind of treatment can move from getting by to thriving. I am especially dedicated to the families and siblings of those with developmental delays and mental health concerns. Raising children into adulthood is the most challenging job many of us have. When our children young or old are struggling, we struggle as individuals and families. I am well versed in working with school districts, regional centers, residential programs, and physicians to get the services your family needs to launch your child or young adult successfully. As a parent of a special needs adult, I’m personally well acquainted with the challenges and gifts of having a neurodiverse child.
Starting therapy is really starting a conversation. And, just like in conversation, we start with whatever you are ready share. Once we have an idea of what brings you to therapy, we can start to understand the issues together and create a game plan.
What I have been told over the years by clients is that I am easy to talk to, direct, and have common sense. I have a broad knowledge of interventions beyond talk therapy (TMS, medications, higher levels of care) that can support clients.
