Ray received his Master’s degree from Pace University in Mental Health Counseling. Ray has over 17 years of experience working in the field of Mental Health with children, adolescents, and adults. Ray has worked in a variety of settings which include schools, inpatient mental health facilities, community-based programs, hospitals (Emergency Department), and group homes. Ray Hood offers therapy covered by Kaiser Permanente - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
During sessions the therapist will be teaching the client that emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are interconnected. The therapist teach the client how to modify their thinking patters, and learn how to make better choices in life. The therapist will also give the client therapeutic homework to practice learned skills outside of session.
