LPC, 23 years of experience
I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My specialties include working with individuals experiencing suicidal ideation and/or self-harming behaviors, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and stress. I also offer support for children's and adolescent mental/behavioral health, gender identity, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, and intimate/romantic relationships. Please note I am not licensed to work with couples and families.
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and talk through what you hope to get from therapy. We will go through your intake paperwork and establish a working relationship together.
I am warm, compassionate, and accepting. There is nothing you can say that will make me judge you and I am here to listen and support you in a way that makes the most sense for you! I use a person-centered approach, which means your session is all about you. I incorporate therapeutic exercises at your request and only if it makes sense for you and your goals.
In our sessions, you will find a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and experiences without judgment. My approach is client-centered, meaning I tailor my techniques and strategies to fit your unique needs and goals. Together, we will work on building resilience, finding balance, and creating positive changes in your life.
When someone comes to me for counseling, they can expect to find a warm, compassionate, and open person who accepts them, as they are, unconditionally. Whether I am talking to a young person or an adult, I am committed to providing the highest quality of counseling for my clients by empowering them to tap into their inner strength and potential. I can support you through a wide range of emotional and social concerns.
