Hi! I am a bilingual (English and Haitian creole) clinical psychologist, practicing in Florida. I am a Haitian-born Haitian-American and first generation college graduate. I am passionate about helping marginalized folks through humanistic, culturally-inclusive, liberation-focused, and evidence-based interventions. I am committed to creating a therapeutic environment where you feel seen, heard, and valued for who you are. My goal is not only to alleviate distress but also to facilitate personal growth, resilience, and a sense of agency in navigating life's challenges.
In our first session, I'll learn about specific concerns and come up with a plan to address them using the patient's expertise and strengths in their own life. Patients can expect a warm, supportive, and confidential environment where they are invited to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Patients would discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, provide relevant personal history and background information, and collaboratively establish goals and expectations for the therapeutic process.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to relate to patients at their core, as worthy individuals. I am also able to zero in on the systematic patterns that keep people away from living their most liberated lives, and help patients discover the very essence of their mission and vision for their lives.
I have extensive experience providing mental health care in a variety of settings (hospitals, universities, and community mental health centers) and in administering psychological evaluations (such as pre-bariatric evaluations and ADHD evaluations). I currently work with adolescents and adults in Florida providing psychotherapy and conducting psychological evaluations. I have developed a passion for working with mothers, particularly those experiencing anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors (such as sleep and eating difficulties) due to role overload and role conflicts and the pressure to do it all. Additionally, I have extensive experience serving adults who are in the Sandwich Generation, serving as caregivers for their parents and children, facing the unique challenges of the lack of time to take care of themselves as they meet the needs of everyone else. I have experience in Health Psychology and I am a personal advocate for health promotion and disease prevention. I am dedicated to helping those struggling with stress due to medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, sickle cell anemia, and cancer. I am a liberation-focused psychologist and I am devoted to serving those who experience chronic race-based stressors, validate their experiences and learn coping skills to tap into their innate power and purposefully experience more joy and peace. I also help college students address academic stress resulting from anxiety. I am committed to helping relieve stress and depression from first-generation college and graduate school students who face the all-too-real pressure to achieve, while struggling with a lack of resources.
