About me

Hi! My name is Glenda mostly known as “Gigi”. I am a highly energetic and motivated Licensed Mental Health Counselor in South Florida that thrives to help others reach their undiscovered potential. I have over 15 years of experience working in mental health with diverse populations and demographics ranging from community mental health to private practice. I have a desire to innovate how mental health is perceived and facilitate treatment. My approach emphasizes the mutual development of goals for therapy and the provision of ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic process. I seek to create an integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to treating mental health through evidence-based practice and techniques. FACTS: 1 in 5 U.S. adults and 1 in 6, aged 6-17, experience mental health each year (NAMI 2020) You are not alone. Help is available! Don't let depression or anxiety get in the way of becoming something more. Let me help you overcome the obstacles getting the way of living your best life. My training includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. Make your mental health a priority today. "PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: Ms. Gonzalez limits the services provided to you to those that are clinical in nature. Any requests for additional administrative services like disability certification and special accommodations (such as Emotional Support Animals letters) related to a psychological condition will have to be provided by another mental health provider. Short-term disability certification by Ms. Gonzalez will be limited to a period of time not to exceed 4 weeks, at which time those determinations will also have to be made by another mental health provider. The reason for this policy is to avoid having the performance of administrative functions interfere with your therapy."

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll create a safe, welcoming space to explore what brings you here. I’ll listen carefully to your concerns, history, and goals while answering any questions you have about the process. Together we’ll begin identifying patterns and strengths, and I’ll share how we can work collaboratively using practical, supportive approaches. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of next steps and what therapy with me can look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer a steady, collaborative presence that prioritizes safety and practical, evidence-based methods with a solution-focused approach. Clients often appreciate how I create a supportive space while gently helping them notice patterns, regulate intense emotions, and build clearer boundaries. I balance warmth with structure, providing tools for daily functioning and relational insight. My focus remains on empowerment, self-compassion, and meaningful progress at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals of all ages who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, difficulty focusing or following through, recurring relational stress, and patterns of self-criticism or rejection sensitivity. They often notice cycles of procrastination, emotional reactivity, or interpersonal tension that leave them feeling stuck. These clients value a collaborative, trauma-informed approach focused on emotion regulation, mindfulness, and healthier dynamics. Their goals include building emotional steadiness, improving daily functioning, establishing clearer boundaries, reducing reactivity, and cultivating self-compassion for greater stability and connection.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients manage anxiety, depression, and patterns of unhelpful thinking. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and implement practical coping strategies in their daily lives. Sessions are structured yet collaborative, allowing clients to gain insight into how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected while learning skills that promote meaningful, lasting change.

The smile is what drew me in from her picture. When speaking to her, it was how she had everything formatted and while she challenged opinions she gave solutions. She tries to make herself as available as possible for her patients within a reasonable time frame. Oh and a dog lover! which was nice to talk about.
