(she/her)
I am an independently licensed social worker in both Ohio (LISW) and Kentucky (LCSW) as well as a PhD in social work. I have 25 years of experience working as a therapist, clinical leader and teacher and strive to learn something new each day. I am a trained EMDR therapist and have helped many people who have experienced trauma and have worked with first responders who need assistance following traumatic events. I have worked with patients with a variety of challenges including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, mood swings, psychotic episodes, parenting and relationship challenges and attention and focus difficulties. My therapy style is welcoming and inquisitive. I believe in treatment which focuses on finding solutions to troubling symptoms and holistic approaches without judgement or labels. My approach combines a variety of methods including strengths based, person centered, brief solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR trauma therapy. I will listen to you to gain information about what you are experiencing and work with you to develop a plan that is focused on minimizing or alleviating troubling symptoms and experiences that you are having which negatively impact your quality of life.
During our first session I hope to get to know you better, gather information about what difficulties you are experiencing and find out what your goals are for treatment.
I'm a very collaborative therapist who works with you to guide you to healing. By listening I can help you to identify patterns and insights that you might not be aware of. Most present day difficulties are related to past experiences and addressing those can help to alleviate troublesome symptoms that you are experiencing. I can help guide you in making those connections to prepare you for a future that is more balanced.
