New to Grow
I am a licensed therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals across a wide range of settings, including schools, correctional facilities, in-home programs, inpatient care, community based mental health, wilderness therapy, and early childhood environments. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and tailored to meet you exactly where you are. I specialize in working with women navigating life transitions, parenting, perinatal mental health, stress, trauma, and relationship challenges. As a mother of three, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience into the therapy space, especially when supporting parents through the complexities of caregiving, identity, and emotional wellbeing. My work integrates evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with holistic and experiential approaches, including nervous system regulation informed by polyvagal theory, yoga-based techniques, sand tray therapy, and nature-based mindfulness. My office is located on 10 acres of peaceful land, offering a unique opportunity for grounding and connection with nature as part of the healing process. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, creative, and easy to talk to. I value authenticity, humor, and building a genuine therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe, understood, and supported. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I’m here to walk alongside you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first meeting is centered on building a strong foundation for our work together. Developing a comfortable, trusting connection is an essential part of the therapeutic process, and this initial session gives us the opportunity to get to know one another in a supportive, low-pressure way. We will begin exploring what brings you to therapy, along with your current concerns, life experiences, and personal history. This is part of a comprehensive, holistic assessment that helps me understand you as a whole person—not just the challenges you’re facing, but also your strengths, values, and what’s most important to you. Together, we will start identifying goals for therapy and what you hope to gain from our work. This is a collaborative process, and your voice, preferences, and comfort level are always prioritized. I offer both in-person sessions in a peaceful, nature-based setting and virtual sessions for flexibility and convenience.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to blend deep clinical knowledge with real- life understanding. With over 17 years of experience across diverse settings, I have developed a flexible, adaptive approach that allows me to meet clients where they are, regardless of their background or current challenges. I have a passion for working with women in recovery from substance use, co-dependency, and Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA). With 15 years of focused experience in these areas I have a good understanding of what it takes for clients to untangle these patterns and move toward healthier, more empowered ways of relating to themselves and others. I offer both evidence-based and experiential approaches. While I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support insight and behavioral change, I also recognize that our minds are only part of the healing process. I incorporate nervous system regulation techniques informed by polyvagal theory, helping clients understand and work with their stress responses in a compassionate and practical way. In addition, I offer creative and embodied modalities such as sand tray therapy, yoga-based practices, and nature-based mindfulness. My office, situated on 10 acres of land, provides a unique therapeutic environment where clients can engage in experiential work outdoors, fostering a deeper sense of grounding, connection, and presence. As a mother of three, I bring both personal and professional insight into parenting and perinatal mental health. I understand the complexity, joy, and overwhelm that can come with these experiences, and I strive to create a space where clients feel seen and supported without judgment. Clients often describe me as approachable, down-to-earth, and genuine. I believe that humor and authenticity are powerful tools in therapy, helping to build trust and create a safe, human connection. I aim to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves, exploring difficult emotions, and taking meaningful steps toward growth. Ultimately, my goal is to support each client in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and alignment with their values. I am committed to providing care that is compassionate, individualized, and rooted in both professional expertise and genuine human connection.
Polyvagal Therapy
I have training in polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation. Working together, we will get to know about the nervous system and how your specific nervous works. Using this awareness, we will work together to increase cues of safety and decrease cues of danger in the nervous system, resulting in a more regulated and resourced state. This can include psychoeducation about the nervous system, experiential and somatic exercises, as well as teaching regulation skills
Sandplay
I am trained in sand tray therapy through the Heartland Play Institute. Sand tray is not just for children, in fact it is a highly effective form of expressive therapy for adults. Sand tray allows clients to process complex emotions such as grief and trauma, allowing them to go beyond words. It encourages safe exploration and offers new perspectives on issues.
Experiential Therapy
My office is located on 10 acres of land, including walking trails. I offer walk and talk therapy, nature-based / mindfulness therapy, and can utilize elements of psychodrama for those interested. I am a certified hatha yoga instructor and can incorporate yoga into therapy for those who are interested as well.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have many years of experience using a cognitive behavioral approach, helping clients to examine their thoughts and create more balanced and helpful thinking patterns and in turn, more balanced and healthy emotions. I am also trained in CBT for post disaster distress, to assist those who have lived through a devastating event, including natural disasters.
Group Therapy
Throughout the year I offer short -term group therapy that include an array of topics including; parenting with trauma, authentic self-care, polyvagal reset, nature-based mindfulness, and authentic self-care
