New to Grow
Hi, I’m Jessica Aucoin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Grief-Informed Professional providing online therapy to adults throughout Connecticut. I enjoy working with people navigating grief, difficult life changes, anxiety, and depression. Life doesn’t always turn out the way we expected, and sometimes it can be hard to know where to go from there. My goal is to provide a comfortable, supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and work through whatever brings you to therapy.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore what’s been going on in your life, what you’re hoping to work through, and what you’d like to get out of our time together. You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and with a better sense of how we can work together to help you move forward.
I bring warmth, compassion, and a genuine desire to understand each person’s experience. As a Certified Grief-Informed Professional, I understand that loss can take many forms and that everyone processes it differently. I meet clients where they are, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My approach is collaborative and down to earth, combining a supportive space to talk things through with practical tools to help you navigate challenges and find your way forward.
My ideal clients are adults navigating grief, loss, or major life changes who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. This might include the loss of a loved one, changes in relationships, shifts in identity, or struggles with anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with people who want a space to process their experiences at their own pace and better understand themselves. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based techniques and practical coping skills while recognizing that each person's story and needs are different.
I incorporate ACT to help clients make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them take over their lives. Together, we explore what matters most to them and identify ways to move toward their values, even when life feels uncertain or challenging. My goal is to help clients develop greater flexibility, become more present in their daily lives, and take meaningful steps forward while accepting that not every difficult feeling needs to be fixed or avoided.
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we explore patterns of thinking that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or feeling stuck and work on developing healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. I incorporate practical strategies that clients can use outside of sessions to manage stress, build confidence, and make changes that feel meaningful to them.
I incorporate DBT skills into my work to help clients manage difficult emotions, cope with stress, and navigate challenging situations. We may focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and communication skills that can be used in everyday life. My goal is to help clients better understand their emotions, respond to challenges in healthier ways, and feel more confident handling life's ups and downs. I tailor these skills to each person's needs and pace.
