Hi, I'm Dr. Nate. Do you find yourself feeling sad, empty, or unmotivated? Do you struggle with anxiety, anger, or behavior you just can't stop? Do you have a child who is struggling or a marriage that could be better? Life presents challenges and sometimes we or the ones we love could use some extra help getting through those challenges successfully. For over fifteen years, I have provided therapy and psychological testing in a variety of settings from private practices to doctor's offices, college counseling centers, and community mental health. My approach is to combine the best of psychotherapy with Christian theology to help others live the abundant life that is found in Jesus. I believe the mind, body, and spirit can all have an impact on a person's functioning, and it's my approach to address those areas that are limiting one's functioning.
During the first session, the client can expect that I will be collecting information relevant to his/her concerns, background, and treatment goals. Also, I will explain a bit about my approach and answer questions the client has about therapy.
My biggest strengths include my positive, non-judgemental attitude; education and clinical experience, and emotional attunement. My specialties include young adult and adult clients struggling with depression, life purpose, spiritual issues, and relationship conflict.
Christian clients over the age of 15; married couples desiring couple's counseling; families interested in family therapy
I see value in the many different types of therapy approaches and like to borrow from the approaches that I believe will be most helpful for my client. I most often use cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, solution-focused, and emotion-focused therapy.
