About me

I’m Andrea Claiborne, LCSW, therapist, author, wife, mother, and the owner and CEO of QuoVadis Counseling PLLC. At QuoVadis Counseling, I believe therapy is more than simply addressing what has happened in your life—it’s about understanding where you are, discovering where you want to go, and developing the tools to help you get there. QuoVadis is Latin for “Where are you going?” and that question is at the heart of my practice.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel exciting, uncomfortable, or even a little intimidating. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself. During our first session, we’ll get to know one another, discuss what brought you to therapy, and explore your goals and areas of concern. You’ll have the opportunity to share your story at your own pace while we begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas for growth. I’ll explain how therapy works, answer your questions, and collaborate with you to create a plan that fits your needs. You don’t have to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin. We’ll figure it out together. You’ve already taken the first step by reaching out. Let’s take the next step together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring compassion, authenticity, clinical experience, and a genuine commitment to helping people grow. I meet clients where they are without judgment while creating a space where they can be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. I listen beyond the words and work to understand the experiences, patterns, and emotions that shape how you navigate yourself and your relationships. I also bring a strengths-based and practical approach to therapy. We won’t just talk about the problem—we’ll work together to identify tools, build insight, develop healthier patterns, and create meaningful change. Most importantly, I believe therapy should leave you feeling seen, heard, equipped, and empowered. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you discover your strengths, clarify your goals, and determine where you want to go next. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate relationships, communication, marriage, intimacy, personal growth, and life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical, integrating evidence-based modalities including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and sex therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Who I Work With My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are ready for growth, healing, and meaningful change. They may be navigating relationship challenges, communication difficulties, intimacy concerns, life transitions, or personal struggles that have become difficult to manage alone. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection, willing to learn, and ready to take an active role in their therapeutic journey. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You simply need to be willing to take the first step.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. My goal is to help you build greater self-awareness, practical coping skills, and lasting change.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help individuals and couples understand the emotions and relationship patterns that may be creating distance or conflict. Together, we identify underlying needs, strengthen emotional connection, and create healthier ways of responding to one another. My goal is to help couples move from cycles of conflict and disconnection toward greater safety, trust, understanding, and connection.

Gottman method

I use the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen their friendship, improve communication, manage conflict, and rebuild connection. Through practical, evidence-based tools, we explore the patterns that may be creating distance and help couples develop healthier ways to communicate, understand one another, and respond to conflict. My goal is not simply to help couples stop arguing—it’s to help them build a stronger relationship, deepen emotional connection, and create a marriage they both feel invested in.
