Welcome! My name is Liz and I have 12 years of mental health experience. Whether this is your first-ever therapy session or you've had a few in the past, I'm here to make mental wellness approachable and to help you become your best self. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, grief and loss and trauma, and see individuals aged 16 to older adults. I take an individualized approach to providing therapy geared toward the client's presenting symptoms and experiences. If you are experiencing life transitions, anxiety or depression, you can feel better. Let me help you take back control of your life, schedule an intake session today.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first meeting, I'll let you talk about the things that are getting in the way of you being your best self. We will talk about your expectations for therapy and things you want to work on. Moving forward beyond our first meeting, we will talk about things happening presently in your life day to day that are stress inducing or upsetting. We will work together to connect things that happened in the past to your ability to handle things in the present and work through empirically based strategies to reduce distress. We will discuss and practice coping skills in session, leaving you with tangible strategies to use for mood regulation between sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is the industry standard for treating many psychological concerns. I have been trained by the Beck Institute in implementing empirically validated techniques to help you change negative thought patterns to more productive ones. I use grief and loss techniques to help people recognize that grief is much more than the loss of a person to death, it is often experienced during any significant life change - good or bad. I utilize these techniques to help people understand and move forward from many different kinds of losses.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy working with all types of people experiencing difficulties getting through life, and I especially connect with parents having a hard time achieving a healthy work-life balance. In working with these people, I invite exploration of simple and complex problem solving techniques to help simplify life and use CBT techniques to change unhelpful thoughts into more productive ones.
