LMFT, 14 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello I’m Shaylale, I am a black licensed marriage and family therapist with fourteen years of experience treating children, adults and families with diverse backgrounds and mental health issues. I view therapy as a collaborative process where I provide a safe space and tools to help my clients develop insight into their problems and develop a clear plan to help improve their lives.
My first session with you typically consists of me getting to know you by learning about what led you to seeking care, your current and historical mental health background, and identifying what goals you would like to accomplish in therapy. I will also share more about myself and what to expect in therapy moving forward.
I utilize a cognitive behavioral treatment approach to help my clients identify their strengths and use them to bravely create change and live the lives they want to lead.
I enjoy working with clients who are open to meaningful change to improve their mental health and relationships with others.
I utilize cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to help my clients understand how their thoughts affect the way they behave and feel. The improved self-awareness of the impact of their thinking process and actions often increases confidence to make necessary changes to improve their quality of life.
