New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I specialize in working with clients struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is compassionate, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating faith-based counseling for clients who desire a Christian approach. I believe that healing happens through authentic connection, self-awareness, and creating a safe space where clients feel heard without judgment. My goal is to help individuals build emotional resilience, develop healthier coping skills, and move toward lasting growth and healing. I strive to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they navigate challenges, rediscover hope, and create meaningful change in their lives.
During your first counseling session, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore the goals you hope to achieve through counseling. We will review your personal history, current challenges, emotional concerns, and any important life experiences that may be impacting your well-being. You do not have to share everything at once, and there is no pressure to go deeper than you feel comfortable. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. I will also answer any questions you may have about the counseling process, treatment approaches, confidentiality, and what future sessions may look like. Together, we will begin developing a plan that supports your emotional, mental, and spiritual growth while helping you move toward healing, clarity, and lasting change.
My greatest strengths as a counselor are my ability to create a safe and authentic therapeutic environment, connect with clients through compassion and empathy, and help individuals navigate difficult emotional experiences with honesty and support. I strive to meet clients where they are without judgment while encouraging meaningful growth and self-awareness. I have a strong passion for working with individuals struggling with trauma, emotional pain, substance abuse, and life transitions. My experience in both mental health and addiction counseling allows me to understand the complex connection between emotional wounds, behaviors, and coping patterns. I also value integrating evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and CBT with faith-based counseling for clients who desire spiritual support as part of their healing journey. Another strength I bring to counseling is my ability to balance encouragement with accountability. I believe lasting change happens when clients feel supported while also being challenged to grow beyond unhealthy patterns and limiting beliefs. My goal is to help clients build resilience, rediscover hope, and move toward emotional, relational, and spiritual healing.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to explore healing, growth, and lasting change in their lives. I enjoy working with people who are struggling emotionally, navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or life transitions, and are looking for a safe and supportive space to process their experiences. I am especially passionate about helping trauma survivors who may feel stuck in painful patterns or overwhelmed by the lasting effects of past experiences. I also enjoy supporting individuals recovering from substance abuse and addiction, helping them build emotional resilience, healthier coping skills, and a stronger sense of purpose and identity. For clients who desire it, I offer a faith-based approach that integrates Christian values and spirituality into the counseling process. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported as they move toward emotional, relational, and spiritual healing.
EMDR
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process painful experiences, reduce emotional distress, and move toward healing in a safe and supportive environment. Many people carry the effects of trauma, anxiety, grief, or difficult life experiences long after the events have passed. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or emotionally charged. My approach to EMDR is compassionate, collaborative, and paced according to each client’s needs. I believe healing happens when clients feel emotionally safe, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. EMDR can help individuals develop greater emotional resilience, healthier beliefs about themselves, and a renewed sense of peace and confidence in their daily lives.
Christian Counseling
I offer Christian counseling for individuals who desire to integrate their faith into the healing process. I believe counseling can be a place where emotional, relational, and spiritual growth come together. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic practices with biblical principles, compassion, and grace to help clients navigate life’s challenges with hope and purpose. Christian counseling can provide support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, addiction recovery, grief, and life transitions while also strengthening one’s relationship with God. I strive to create a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where clients feel safe exploring both their emotional struggles and spiritual questions. My goal is to help clients experience healing, develop healthier patterns, and grow in emotional and spiritual well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, the way we think about ourselves, others, and life situations can contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and unhealthy patterns. CBT helps clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding. My approach to CBT is practical, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I work alongside clients to build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create lasting behavioral change. CBT can help individuals increase self-awareness, strengthen confidence, and develop effective tools to navigate everyday challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
