I'm Jim, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in California since 2001. I work with adults and specialize in trauma, life transitions, relational intelligence, and parenting. I've spent the majority of my career working with foster youth and their families. I use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
I am dedicated to helping clients overcome a variety of emotional and psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and trauma. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and address their unique needs and goals. With a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into their behaviors and patterns, and develop skills and strategies for coping and thriving.
As a clinical therapist, I utilize a range of treatment methods and tools to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. One of my primary approaches is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to mental health problems. Additionally, I may incorporate various psychoeducational techniques, such as teaching coping skills, communication strategies, and relaxation techniques.
As a clinical therapist, I believe that one of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I approach each client with compassion, empathy, and respect, and strive to understand their unique perspectives and challenges. I am committed to providing ethical, confidential, and culturally sensitive care to each of my clients. Finally, I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and/or who have been in foster care.
