Hi and Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed to practice in California. I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 12 years and have been a therapist for 5 years. I have worked with clients challenged by depression, anxiety, family conflict, and life changing situations. My approach draws from cognitive behavioral, solution focused, strengths based, and emotionally focused therapy, depending on the person and preference. Mental health symptoms are one of many considerations in the treatment process. Other considerations include physical health, safety, living situation, social support, finances, spirituality, and overall sense of well-being. I work collaboratively with each client to assist you in developing tools to empower yourself for success. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The foundation of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Emphasis towards building trust and creating a healthy and open line of communication is the first step. It’s important to say that this is a no judgment zone. Therapy is where you should feel safe and comfortable with sharing thoughts, feelings, experiences, and ideas without fear of being judged. During our work together, open communication is not only encouraged, it is an essential ingredient towards the success you deserve. During each session, we will work on building upon the strengths you already have. During the first session, we will complete an Intake Assessment and review two assessments that will help build a starting point for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals the last five and one half years, I’ve learned to meet clients where they are, and to build on their strengths. As a therapist, I will assist you in being able to recognize your own strength and getting to a point where you are more empowered to meet the goals you want or have for yourself.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My approach draws from cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and strengths based, depending on the person and preference. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT aims to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and to learn practical self-help strategies. These strategies are designed to bring about immediate positive changes in your quality of life. CBT can be good for anyone who needs support to challenge unhelpful thoughts that are preventing them from reaching their goals or living the life they want to live.

Strength-Based

Strengths based therapy focuses on the client’s existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities in an effort to use these abilities to improve quality of life and reduce problematic symptoms.
