Hi. I am a psychiatry mental health Nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) across the life span to serve pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. I graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Calhoun Community College in Tanner, AL. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. I worked at John Peter Smith Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry in the Behavioral Health evaluation and inpatient psych units for 8 years.
In our first session, we are going to talk about confidentiality and then proceed to spending time together, to know each other. We will then discuss your challenges including reason for the visit, ask questions about your history including your childhood, education and relationships. It is fair to say that if you don't feel comfortable discussing anything, you are welcome not to talk about it.
My service model which is based on a smaller patient-to-provider ratio, longer appointment times for better quality patient-centered care, combining services to optimize the cost and convenience to the patient is a strong tool that I use in conjunction with evidence, strength-based and humanistic approaches to aid patients in overcoming their challenges.
I work with patients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, and addiction disorders. I focus on providing a calm and supportive environment and I bring empathy in combination with an easy-going communication style with a good sense of humor and a genuine passion for caring.
Weekly sessions with parents/ guardians with children 0-5 years old, focusing on restoring the child's normal development and attachment to the parent.
