About me

I’m Dr. Sally, a Licensed Professional Counselor serving clients in Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. My work is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a genuine belief in people’s capacity to heal and grow. Alongside my clinical practice, I also serve as a Clinical Supervisor and Professor in Counseling, where I have the privilege of supporting and mentoring emerging mental health professionals. My Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, along with specialized training in trauma work, reflects my long‑standing commitment to walking with individuals through some of the most challenging chapters of their lives. Before opening my private practice, I worked in community‑based and addiction counseling, partnering with individuals facing significant adversity. Those experiences shaped my approach: listening closely, honoring each person’s story, and helping them uncover practical, hopeful steps forward. Whether I’m supporting clients or training future counselors, my goal is the same—to create spaces where people feel safe, understood, and empowered.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to slow down and understand what’s happening in your world right now. I’ll invite you to share your current challenges, past experiences, and the hopes you have for therapy. Together, we’ll explore what feels most important to you and begin shaping a plan that fits your needs, pace, and strengths. My role is to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate with you to create a direction that feels both manageable and meaningful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe healing happens within a relationship where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and respected. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by emotional pain, we’ll take things step by step—never rushing, always honoring your pace. My focus is on helping you reconnect with the strengths you already have, even if they feel hard to access right now. As we work together, you’ll have space to process trauma, build confidence, and practice new ways of relating to yourself and others. We’ll explore skills like assertiveness, boundary‑setting, and self‑compassion, all while gently releasing the guilt or shame that may have been placed on you by others or through generational trauma experiences (such as family displacement or divorce). I hold a deep belief in your ability to grow, and we’ll anchor our work in hope—hope that leads to real, sustainable change and an abundant life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I find great fulfillment in working with young professionals who are navigating the initial stages of their careers, as well as with retirees who are embarking on new life transitions. I recognize that reaching out for support requires considerable courage, which is why I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. This connection is essential for fostering personal growth and development, helping my clients to explore their challenges, set meaningful goals, and achieve a greater sense of fulfillment in their lives.
