Welcome! I'm {insert Veronica Umerah}. Hi! I just want use this opportunity to appreciate you for taking this bold step to seek help for your mental health, because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, Bipolar d/o, Schizoaffective d/o, Schizophrenia and/or self-care.
During our first session together, we will start by introducing our selves, then I will start by asking you questions on the symptoms you feeling , then we get a diagnosis and a better care plan to best treat in your follow up sessions. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an " actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
I'm really good at relating to people and making them feel comfortable. I think it's important to earn a patient's trust and that's something I feel I do well. As a mental health professional typically cares for individuals with all mental health disorders, mental health issues, and social problems. This has helped me to grow in various ways, most especially in asking questions related to mental health to determine how to help these individual. Learning interview questions and sample answers for individuals with mental health issues helped me to provide thoughtful answers for my clients and become a professional for my clients.
I love working with pts with mental illnesses like Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Schizoaffective, Anxiety, Depression. My pts are eager to improve, but don't best have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. The pts often feel stuck and overwhelmed and very anxious about their mental health.
CBT includes identifying thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, dissecting dysfunctional thoughts, and reframing to make the dysfunctional thoughts more accurate. Its important to stress that it is not about changing a negative thought to a positive one.
