PMHNP, 12 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi! I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) based in Florida. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. I assess, diagnose, and treat a range of psychiatric conditions through a combination of psychotherapy and medication management. My goal is to support clients in achieving emotional well-being, empowering them with the tools and guidance they need to lead fulfilling lives.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, complete a full assessment, and discuss your medication management needs. I will ask you if you have been prescribed mental health medications in the past and how those medications worked for you. This information will help me create a tailored medication management plan.
One of my greatest strengths as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is building trust and rapport with patients. I recognize that mental health care often requires individuals to share vulnerable aspects of their lives, and I take pride in creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and supported. In addition, I bring strong clinical assessment skills, particularly in diagnosing and managing complex psychiatric conditions. I stay current with evidence-based treatments and collaborate closely with other providers to ensure holistic care. Lastly, I’m deeply committed to patient advocacy. I work to empower patients through education, ensuring they understand their diagnoses and treatment options, which leads to better engagement and outcomes.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP), I serve clients who require a combination of mental health assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and medication management. My nurse and psychiatric specialist training allows me to approach care holistically, addressing biological, psychological, and social factors. The clients I am well-suited to serve include those needing medication management, those with common mental health disorders, those with serious mental illness, those in underserved or rural areas, clients across the lifespan, and those needing trauma-informed care.
I gather information about my client's presenting problems. Then, we identify automatic thoughts, core beliefs, and behavioral patterns. I explain the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and normalize my client's experiences by framing them within this model.
