Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, open space for clients to explore and process experiences, identify areas for growth, and make necessary changes. My journey as a counselor started in community mental health in 2019. I transitioned to private practice where I obtained my license and became trained in EMDR therapy. Through my career, I have gained experience with sexuality and gender identity exploration, substance use disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be relaxed and set at a pace you are most comfortable with. We are able to cover strengths and growing edges for family, social, and interpersonal relationships as well as set therapy goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I bring a refreshing approach to our sessions with a healthy combination of professional experience and a warm, laid back demeanor. With an appropriate blend of empathy, humor, and acceptance, my goal is to help clients identify threads between the past, present, and future to assist in processing and growth.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a modality used for trauma and other related presenting issues. During an EMDR session, we will utilize bilateral stimulation, usually tapping, while simultaneously accessing memories to help process them. EMDR mimics the processing that occurs in the REM stage of sleep. This will help lower the mental, emotional, and visceral intensity of the memory.

Humanistic

I adopt practices and ideas from person-centered, gestalt, and existential approaches to create a nonjudgmental and supportive space. I empower clients while helping to take responsibility, find meaning, and achieve therapy goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. By tapping into and becoming aware of thoughts, we are able to recognize healthier reactions and identify appropriate coping skills.
