I have over 30 years experience working with clients in the areas of mental health, addiction, and crisis intervention in various healthcare settings. I have been offering therapy through telehealth since 2022 and find this works well for many clients. For the past 14 years I have also worked specifically with military veterans.

I tend to be direct and forthright in offering feedback, and I am firmly grounded in accepting each individual's decisions about their own life and ways forward to reach their goals.

I have a casual, "come-as-you-are" outlook and believe strongly in meeting clients where they are in their own therapy and life journey. I work from a non-judgmental and strengths based focus. First session

In our first session we will cover background information about you and begin to explore who you are, what is important to you, and what brings you to therapy at this time. We may talk about what has worked for you in the past, what motivates you, and what you most need currently to establish a beginning trust to start our journey together, assisting you to meet your goals.

Strengths

I am non-judgmental, gentle, calm, kind, and real with my clients. It is important to me to establish a relationship of genuine and mutual respect and honesty, and I understand that to achieve this I must show up as myself within our sessions.

Ideal clients

My clients may be commited to moving forward in their lives, or they may be exploring what they want their lives to be. They are willing to engage in therapy and to bring themselves, honesty, and an openness or willingness to the therapeutic space. Clients will be offered practical, solution focused guidance to use in the moment and help identifying patterns that are impeding their ability to create different outcomes, always with the understanding and assumption that individuals are doing the best they can in any given moment.

Treatment methods

Eclectic

A combination of therapeutic techniques are utilized to assist in identifying, clarifying, processing, resolving, and moving forward with reaching your therapy goals. I practice from a place of non-judgmental curiosity and discovery, and genuine positive regard built from a strengths perspective. My eclectic practice draws from trauma resolution therapy, brief solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, grief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, seeking safety, addiction recovery, relapse prevention, mindfulness practices, and somatic experiencing, in addition to accessing additional evidence-based therapeutic techniques and skills as needed.
