I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have several years of experience working in county mental health serving individuals who have survived trauma. I help teens and adults manage big emotions, mood swings, and healthy boundaries in relationships so that they can feel better about themselves and in general. I also work with people who describe themselves as highly sensitive, or are often told that they are sensitive.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will discuss what brings you to therapy, what experience you have with therapy, and what your expectations are. I will ask you about your living situation, relationships with family and friends, employment and school history, and what you like to do for fun or to relax to get to know you as well as possible. We will agree on a focus for treatment and talk about what working with me will look and feel like.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to attune to and connect with my clients quickly and deeply, which allows the therapy process to actually feel helpful, and for my clients to feel seen and heard. I am empathic and genuine, which helps my clients feel comfortable, as nobody wants to talk to a robot. I love incorporating humor to make the atmosphere casual and warm. If you feel ready to finally dive in and make lasting change, take a look at my calendar and book a session.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with older teens and adults who have experienced difficulty with mood issues, family of origin issues, unhealthy relationships, low self esteem, trauma and difficulty fitting in with peers. My clients often have big feelings or are highly sensitive and have had difficulty balancing healthy relationships and staying true to themselves.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I primarily draw from attachment-based therapy in my work, as many of my clients are deeply impacted by their unmet needs and family dynamics from early childhood. I help my clients build trust in relationships and learn how to express emotions, which builds self esteem, confidence, and a sense of self worth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I heavily rely on CBT to help my clients see how negative beliefs and thoughts may be impacting their moods and decision making, and guide them to instead focus on thoughts that feel good and are still true. Changing these thoughts often helps us feel better and show up in a healthier way with ourselves and in our relationships.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR, which helps clients resolve trauma without having share in full detail what we have been through, like some of the more classic trauma therapy approaches require. This treatment helps clients resolve traumatic memories in a more physical approach where they have previously been stuck with traditional talk therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I am trained in CBT-i. This treatment is a highly structured therapy based on data collected by the client, and changes made to wake up time and bed time. Successful treatment often brings reduced of symptoms of other related problems such as mood wings, depression, and anxiety, even though these are not the main focus of this treatment.
