I have been in the counseling field for 8 years and working as a private practice clinician for the past 3. I am an open and effective communicator and will tailor your therapy experience to your comfort level. For some clients, they prefer more of a direct approach, others need more of a gentle approach. I am able to diversify my approach as necessary so therapy doesn't feel as scary or daunting. It is an honor to walk alongside clients during their struggles in order to provide relationship and connection that they may not have elsewhere in their lives.
Clients can expect an intake experience where I will go over limitations of confidentiality, ask if they have any questions about the therapeutic process, and where I will be asking questions about presenting problems, history, and spending time getting to know them. This will help us collaborate on treatment goals for your purpose in therapy and any goals you have.
I am a detailed listener, connect themes well, and genuinely enjoy helping others. I will sit with you in your pain and cheer you on as your therapist.
I enjoy working with clients who are looking for someone to connect with them in their pain. I enjoy helping clients learn how to set effective boundaries, discovering their self-worth, and being able to label the emotions they are feeling.
I am EMDR certified and utilize it for Clients who decide to target trauma or harmful themes that are inhibiting their lives and growth.
There are often parts of ourselves that feel conflicting and that can be confusing. I utilize IFS in order to allow Clients to sit with these opposing parts and learning how to make peace with those opposing parts.
