Hello! I am a double-board certified Nurse Practitioner holding a Doctoral Degree in Nursing Practice. I am dually licensed in the state of Florida as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I obtained my Master’s degree from South University, and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors. I have over 15 years of experience in the medical field, with 10 years of Nurse Practitioner experience ranging from treating acute to chronic conditions. I believe in a comprehensive approach integrating both my psychiatric and medical expertise grounded in evidence-based practice to provide the highest quality of care to help my patients cultivate a path towards a balanced and fulfilling life of mental wellness!
Everyone’s journey and challenges are unique. Therefore, it is a priority that during our first session we engage in rapport building and gain a sense of relationship. Mental illness takes on many forms and varies in severity, for that reason, we will have a collaborative experience where you will discuss your current mental health concerns, medical history, and any relevant life factors. A detailed assessment will be conducted of the specific life adversities to help create an individualized plan that best fits your needs.
Your mental health and wellness is my top priority! Having guided numerous patients through the complexities of mental illness, I have refined a trusted approach that assists in uncovering the root causes of their challenges. This allows me to build a personalized plan of care that best suits each individual. With my patient-centered care tailored to meet the needs of each individual patient, I not only foster a caring therapeutic environment, but I also empower my patients to become the best version of themselves.
I enjoy working with individuals 18 and older who are facing mental health challenges and require assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a form of psychotherapy treatment that I utilize with my patients to assist them with understanding how their thoughts, beliefs and attitudes, affect their feelings and actions. Research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life.
Motivational Interviewing is a counseling method that enhances a patients motivation to change. While treating my patients, I use it as a patient-centered counseling style to help motivate ambivalent patients to elicit changed behavior and empower a positive lifestyle.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a type of therapy that is centered around finding solutions to problems rather than dwelling on the issues themselves. It's a short-term, goal-oriented approach where I work with my patients to focus on their strengths, resources, and past successes.
