I'm a therapist with a Heart for Healing. I'm a committed clinician who has extensive training in many specialties and will engage clients from perspectives that best suit success given the circumstances at the start of therapy. I'm a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, EMDR Clinician, Trauma informed therapist, Qualified Adoptions Specialist/Clinician, and utilize evidence-based strategies with clients for healing and creating the best life.
When we meet for our first session we will really try to work together to see the Big picture of what is happening that brings you to therapy. We will as well begin to develop some self care solutions for beginning to implement skills into life that can provide relief.
Though I hold specialty in helping via Play and Experiential sessions I am sure to hold space for clients to be heard and seen in many different ways. I take time to explore strengths and then move towards developing skills for success in all areas of life.
I work primarily with ages 5-25 though I have worked during my career with clients that are in more mature stages of adult life.
Play Therapy
I am a registered Play Therapist- Supervisor and I utilize play and experiential work in therapy to help client to gain reflective capacity and to develop insights that will help them to strenthen their coping and life satisfaction.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Utilizing CBT in therapy is very effective and helpful as it allows for exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they impact and work together sometimes healthfully and sometimes with dysfunction within life experiences. Gaining insight into ways to work with internal thoughts to challenge those that are unhelpful and increase struggles rather than strength.
EMDR
EMDR is the Gold standard for treatment of trauma and I often use it in conjunction with Sand tray and other experiential work to allow for trauma to be heal and reintegrated.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
The skills building and ability to gain insight, skills, and support to better cope with life emotions and to regulate emotionally is the central tenet of DBT. I utilize DBT with all clients that may have some High risk features to their mental health struggles.
