Dontay Williams is the Founder & CEO of Mental Health On Purpose Inc. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of GA and a doctoral candidate at Mercer University for Counseling Education and Supervision. His expertise includes Anger Management, Mood Disorders, Addiction Recovery, and topics of Spiritual Integration. I would like to first take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
Our first session will be designed to review the counseling process. You can also expect to share current struggles and areas for therapeutic support. During the first session, we will explore areas of your background to identify areas for development and growth. I am licensed in Georgia and have ten years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, anger management, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence.
My greatest strength is my years of experience working at varying levels of care from private practice to psychiatric inpatient hospital care. This has given good insight into the level of care needed.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Dontay is nice. If we were working through simple issues, he would be a fine choice. Unfortunately, we were dealing with infidelity after getting married, which is too deep a topic for an hr/wk w/Dontay. Our first 3 sessions, we didn't even talk about the infidelity and we stopped going after 3 months when I caught my husband cheating again, same girl. I was hopeful but believe that there was a disconnect in how Dontay supported us through this and it was tough.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I first started couples counseling, but Dontay is the TRUTH! He is incredibly knowledgeable in the field and every time we have a session, his methods, techniques, and activities are stimulating and EFFECTIVE! They're so good! I always find myself saying "wow, that's so good" and applying our session's tactics in real life situations. Thank you, Dontay. You are a gem!
