Hey! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Kentucky! I recently obtained my supervision status. I received my Masters from The University of the Cumberland's in 2015! I have 12 years of experience working primarily with children and adolescents, but also have experience working with sexual assault victims and crisis interventions. I primarily help children, adolescents, and young adults manage symptoms of ADHD, ODD, depression, and anxiety. I have some experience treating social anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will begin with introductions and identify strengths, weaknesses, then delve into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a personalized plan for us to work through in future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children, adolescents, and young adults over the last 12 years, I have gained the knowledge and experience needed to help clients be able to identify challenges, create a plan that leads to measurable success, and the tools and techniques to help clients reach their goals. I am a "big kid" at heart and can empathize with young clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience using CBT as it helps individuals become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking, allowing them to perceive challenging situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively. I believe it is a valuable tool for addressing emotional challenges. In my 12 years of experience, I have used this method to treat a variety of disorders, including ADHD and ODD.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help individuals understand what might be causing self-harm and other behaviors by aiming to understand what might be reinforcing the behavior and leading to its repetition. Once we have a good grasp of this understanding, individuals start using the skills they are learning when they need them the most.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize this approach to concentrate on goal-oriented questioning and clarification to aid individuals in envisioning a future without the problem they are facing. We assist individuals in taking small steps toward resolving their current issues.
