I am a board-certified, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed in multiple states, specializing in stress management, anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, and women’s mental health. With an integrative approach that is person-centered, solution-focused, and culturally-sensitive, I aim to create a therapeutic space that fosters growth, healing, and empowerment. My therapeutic style is collaborative, incorporating empathy, non-judgmental support, and individual accountability to help you navigate life’s challenges. Through a combination of mindfulness, goal-setting, and emotional resilience-building, we’ll work together to identify the changes that will reduce emotional disturbances and improve your overall mental well-being. Therapy should be a space where you feel heard, validated, and supported, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors."

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first therapy session, the focus will be on building a foundation for our therapeutic relationship. We will start by discussing confidentiality and privacy, where I’ll explain my ethical obligations as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). This ensures you understand your rights as a client and feel safe sharing in a confidential space. We will then move into an initial assessment, where I will ask about your current concerns, mental health history, and any past experiences or stressors that are impacting your life. This conversation will help me tailor the therapy process to your specific needs. During this session, we’ll also begin to outline your therapy goals—whether you are looking for help with managing anxiety, processing trauma, navigating life transitions, or something else, this is a time to clarify what you hope to achieve in therapy. I’ll provide an overview of my therapeutic approach, which includes person-centered, solution-focused, and culturally-sensitive methods. We may discuss how evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can support your progress. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process. Finally, we’ll review the logistics of future sessions, such as how often we’ll meet, and I’ll make recommendations based on your needs. If time allows, I may introduce some coping strategies or techniques you can begin using right away. Overall, the first session is a mix of exploration and planning, where we set the stage for meaningful progress. I aim to create a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story and working toward your goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

In my educational training, I have come to adopt a counseling approach that is eclectic – derived from cognitive-behavioral, narrative, person-centered and, solution-focused therapies. This integrative counseling approach strives to balance mindful awareness, fosters genuine empathetic relationships and enriches our collaborative effort in identifying what changes can be made to minimize emotional and behavioral disturbances.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my empathetic approach, extensive knowledge of therapeutic techniques, and commitment to fostering a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment.
