Kristen Smith
Adulting is hard. Stress sucks. Anxiety and Depression seem to be passengers in the trip through life. The plague, Covid, has made these even more amplified....and being asked to go back into the office?! Seriously?! Have you ever felt like an outsider? Like, there can be a group of people talking and you are not part of the conversation. Are you part of the Neurodiverse/neurospicy community? Do you align with the LGBTQIA? Do you ever go to parties and hang out with the Cat? Dog? Well, then we might get along. I understand how challenging seeking help can be. As a compassionate therapist, I'm here to support you. Please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's walk this journey together.
First session
The intake is the first session. Asking all the questions you never knew you'd be answering. Remaining sessions will be focused on what is going on with you in your life. I will typically ask how the week was, if there is anything important that came up and needs to be focused on. If there isn't anything of substance we can focus on things that you are coming to session for. I use solution-focused therapy as my primary mode. As well as strength based. I want you to know you're stong. You can do hard things.
Strengths
I am affirming, validating, and open minded. I will sit with you as you hold big feelings/events. Plus, I have cats that join in...and we count them as therapy cats.
