I’m Steven, a Licensed Professional Counselor for 7+ years. I specialize in helping in clients navigate through relationship stress, life adjustments, divorce, social anxiety, and overall anxiety management. To do this, i use a combination of Person-Centered therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused therapy to help clients try to build momentum towards reaching their goals and managing their everyday life and relationships in a more effective way. My greatest strength as a therapist is to be able to provide Professional Counseling using everyday/real world language and interactions and allowing clients to have an experience talking to "down to earth professional" . I strive to make a client feel heard and validated as a person while helping them take steps in reaching their identified goals. I also try to emphasize flexibility by offering no cancellations fees and 6-7 days of availability on normal weeks is important as I realize it can be hard for some clients to commit to a specifically weekly commitment.
After a session with me it is my hope that you feel safe, heard, and that you feel like you have more confidence in therapy being a support that will help you reach your goals. I hope to be able to help you build momentum towards believing that achieving your goals is obtainable and that therapy can be a useful tool in helping you meet those goals.
It's always awkward to talk about your greatest strengths. I would say generally that clients have given feedback on my ability to be authentic, to be flexible in my approach, and being transparent in stating my strategy of how I think I can best help them in reaching their goals. Clients have also typically enjoyed my ability to be more structured in my approach in the first few sessions which makes it a little easier to be able to speak on topics that can be very hard to put words too.
My goal as a therapist is to help people reclaim their joy, restore their energy, and reconnect with their passions. My hope is to improve clients’ overall quality of life by walking alongside them in their journey to become the very best version of themselves. As a therapist, I work with clients through individual therapy, group therapy, and family/marriage therapy. My areas of passion and expertise include: Processing trauma Building long-lasting motivation to work toward goals Managing anxiety Improving mastery in skills, abilities, and hobbies Improving quality of relationships Supporting major life transitions Minimizing the effects of depression Strengthening thought control
