Hi, and welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Massachusetts. My undergraduate degree is from Clark University and I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State. I have experience working in both inpatient hospital settings as well as in outpatient clinics. I also have experience on the non-clinical side of therapy and have seen the struggles with the shortage of therapists. My hope is to change that, by offering meaningful help and support to people seeking care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is generally spent with covering some basics. We are going to chat briefly about the questionnaires completed (if you chose to complete them), your safety and your expectations. I also want you to feel comfortable, so I welcome questions about me as well. Therapy tends to work best when there is compatibility and I want to be sure you feel that I am a good match for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a clinician, I am kind and empathetic, but I am also pretty straight forward. If you are seeking treatment, you're looking for help with something - and I want to assist you in trying to attain the relief you are seeking in the best way possible. I want to meet you where you are at and I will employ techniques that are right for you. That could mean humor, could be journaling - but we will figure that out together.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

Since one size never fits all, I like to meet people, where they are at, in a way that is both comfortable and beneficial. An eclectic approach offers us a great way to work together and and figure out the best treatment method for you.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Some reasons people may come to therapy is to just 'figure something out' or to set a goal; and they want an effective, brief, structured way to help in achieving this. The Solution Focused Brief Treatment approach will help you see your strengths and provide the tools needed to put things into perspective and move toward your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Negative thoughts... we all have them at some point. When these thoughts though start interfering with your day to day life, they should probably be examined a little more closely. CBT will help you to challenge these thoughts and provide a pathway for a different way to look at these negative assumptions.
