New to Grow
I am a multimodal counselor with a vast amount of experience with many different populations. I am client-centered and allow the client to take the lead in regards to what they feel needs to be discussed and in setting the goals to ensure their needs are met. I work with adults, adolescents, children, couples, families, people from all walks of life struggling with all kinds of difficulties. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance use, trauma, and many other issues that you may need assistance navigating.
Our first session, I will mostly be gathering information to determine what brings you in for counseling and try to understand what has brought you to this point, what struggles you are currently facing, how your past history influences who you are today, help you set goals for what you are hoping to achieve and outlining a plan for the steps we will embark upon together to help you achieve those goals.
I am a very compassionate person and am eager to help others navigate their challenges by offering them a supportive guide to help understand the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors they may be experiencing and helping them to overcome those difficulties that threaten to hold them back from fulfilling their goals. I am flexible and will adjust to meet my clients where they are so if one client wants a faith based counselor and the other client want a strictly science based evidence based counselor, then I will adjust to meet where you are implement whichever strategy best helps you to achieve your goals.
I enjoy helping clients understand their mindset and their own worldview so they can learn to challenge it when that becomes detrimental to them. I enjoy helping people set and work towards their goals to help them be the best versions of themselves they can be, and by helping them recognize things that could be in the way of that--whether that's your own negative thoughts impeding, a strenuous relationship with a parent, sibling, child, partner--and helping to identify ways to overcome those difficulties.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I like to break down the thoughts, feelings or behaviors you are having and help you to better understand them and challenge them as they may cause a strain in your life.
