Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My goal is to help clients recognize how their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors influence one another and to learn strategies for making changes that improve their well-being.
Trauma Informed Care
"Trauma changes how our brains and bodies respond to stress. Some reactions that seem confusing or frustrating—like anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, or always feeling on guard—are often normal responses to overwhelming experiences. Our work together is to help you feel safe, understood, and empowered while learning skills to help your nervous system recover."
Mind-body approach
Our mind and body constantly communicate with each other. Stressful thoughts can increase muscle tension, heart rate, and breathing, while calming your breathing and relaxing your body can send signals to your brain that you're safe. Healing often involves working with both the mind and the body. We will practice paying attention to the present moment rather than judgment and notice our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately reacting to them.
Racial trauma treatment
Experiencing racism, discrimination, prejudice, or repeated messages that your race, ethnicity or culture is less valued. These experiences can happen once, such as a hate crime or discriminatory incident, or they can build up over time through everyday experiences called racial microaggressions.
