Hi! My name is Stephanie. I have been described as an expressive, down-to-earth counselor who puts the clients needs first. I realize that talking to a counselor can be a vulnerable thing, so I prioritize the relationship that we build with each other. I like to set long-term goals to have direction, but follow the client weekly as daily stressors also impact functioning. I want you to leave feeling heard, validated, and challenged.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will discuss what is bringing you into counseling and what you would like to get out of our time together. We will talk about important people in your life and get to know each other a bit.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I find a balance of respect for the clients desires of pace with a healthy level of challenge for growth. I do this by building the relationship we have and finding the moments where a challenge is necessary. I often laugh with clients, and we have moments of deep reflection to help the client ultimately grow and flourish.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

First and foremost, we are human and are living this human experience. I approach my clients with a compassionate, client-centered lens focusing on the goals and changes set by the client. I don't take it lightly to be welcomed into your world and hear your story!

Child Parent Psychotherapy

When working with kids and teens, I collaborate with parents to bridge the gap between what we are focusing on in therapy and applying it at home.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT offers many tools and coping strategies that I can apply to help make changes and reach the client's goals! I am mindful to be creative in coping strategies to find what actually works for the client and will be applied well into their lives.

EMDR

EMDR is a trauma therapy that helps the brain process an event that feels vivid and disturbing to the client's everyday life. We will see if this could be a helpful intervention and walk through the process together.
