My name is Juliana Castillo, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have been licensed to work with clients for two years now. However, I also have experience working with children and adolescents in the school counseling role. I also have experience working with families in this capacity. I have worked with couples, children, adolescents, and individuals. I have worked with clients that have experienced trauma and or depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder to name a few.
In our first session we will begin with introductions and background information. I will discuss my experience as a LPC and approach. We will also discuss what brings them to therapy. We will dive into a little bit of family history and discuss goals short term and long term for treatment or therapy.
I feel that having worked with children and adolescents in the past I have a good understanding of the stages of development. I also have a lot of patience to work with clients and to assist them with the journey they are on. I also have experience helping clients identify root causes of their problems and creating plans to change either behaviors or situations.
I enjoy working with adults who are willing to put in the effort and work to learn new skills and educate themselves on what they need to grow from therapy.
As a licensed professional counselor I have found that solution focused brief treatment has been beneficial for my clients with the time I have working with them. Solution-focused brief therapy is a strength-based approach to psychotherapy that focuses on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Through sessions clients build their solutions through questions and conversation.
