In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Whether you're interested in therapy, medication or both, I start with a 60-minute intake appointment to learn your strengths and concerns and issues, and work with you to create and customize a helpful treatment plan. I'll be open about my knowledge and experience treating and supporting mental health, and hope you'll be open about your expert knowledge and experience of your own life.

I have a very holistic style, sometimes focusing on a particular technique or skill, but always trying to best support your overall mental health needs. I listen without judgement and understand that things don't have to make sense to feel true and real.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

A type of CBT that builds on acceptance of how things are and who you are, to create lasting, purposeful change. Can be effective for depression, perfectionism, dissatisfaction, injustice and other angst-related issues.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Encompasses many evidence-based practices and skills designed around the connections between what we feel, think and do. Can be effective for depression, anxiety, insomnia, grief, and most "why do I keep doing this?" issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

A type of CBT that acknowledges the paradox and complexity of emotions, both within ourselves and with other people. Can be effective for handling your own emotional states, or for improving communication with others at home or at work.

Strength-Based

A wellness model, instead of an illness model, that builds up the aspects and habits in your life that are supportive and helpful.

Carlos was fantastic! I didn’t feel judged. He walked me through non prescription ways of dealing with my ADHD and anxiety and we discussed in detail the medications that could help me treat my ADHD/anxiety and their effects.
