LCPC, 20 years of experience
Hi, I'm Cynthia, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I support individuals navigating difficult life experiences, including transitions, stress, grief, and relationship issues. Starting therapy is a powerful step toward caring for your mental health. It’s natural for a range of emotions to come up along the way, and I’m here to provide support, insight, and guidance throughout the process.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll ask about your background, what led you to seek counseling, and what steps you’ve already taken to address your concerns. This will help me create a personalized treatment plan for you. I may also ask about any current symptoms you’re experiencing. Together, we’ll set goals and outline a clear plan to help you achieve them.
I bring a relaxed and flexible approach to therapy, fostering a safe and supportive space where clients can feel comfortable sharing. I believe open communication is key to building trust, so I emphasize clear boundaries, honest dialogue, and non-judgmental guidance.
I’m dedicated to helping women who are at a turning point in their lives find clarity, direction, and support as they navigate their next chapter. I’m especially inspired to work with those who are open to new possibilities and courageous enough to take meaningful steps forward. Lasting change happens when you're ready to do the inner work—and I’m here to walk alongside those who are ready for that journey.
Psychodynamic theory can help you understand your experiences by exploring how your feelings, behaviors, and beliefs are connected. It's helped dozens of clients understand the impact of their past on their present, and make better choices for themselves.
The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approch can help you learn how to deal with difficult thoughts and feelings. It facilitates acceptance of these thoughts and feelings as a natural part of life, rather than trying to control or get rid of them. ACT also helps you to focus on what is important, such as our values, and take action towards them.
Emotionlly Focused Therapy (EFT) explores the connection between emotions and needs. We'll focus is on managing distressful emotional states and improving personal relationships.
