I received my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I have an extensive background in working with mental health and addictions. I approach therapy from an individualist, holistic, and integrative lens. I strive to provide a safe and confidential environment to assist in the counseling process. I help clients transform into a more authentic, healthy, and balanced version of themselves.
Our first session will be an introduction and learning more about the client. I do focus on the therapeutic relationship because it is one of the most key factors in therapy success. I try my very best to meet you exactly where you are on your journey.
I believe everyone has the power to change and become the person they want to be. I will guide you in identifying your goals, dreams and working on bringing down those barriers.
I love working with individuals that want to learn how to take control of their lives and learn ways to move forward and accomplish their personal goals.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of my therapeutic approach. It's a structured, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through CBT, I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and develop more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving. One common technique is cognitive restructuring, where I help clients recognize and challenge distorted or unhelpful thoughts. This might involve asking questions to examine the evidence for and against a particular belief, or exploring alternative interpretations of a situation. By doing this, clients learn to replace negative thought patterns with more realistic and balanced ones, leading to a shift in their emotional experiences.
Mindfulness-based interventions are another integral component of my therapeutic toolkit. Mindfulness involves paying attention to the present moment, on purpose, and without judgment. It's about cultivating awareness of thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment. In my practice, I integrate mindfulness techniques into therapy sessions to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and overall well-being.
