Hi! I'm Alexis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University and have over a decade of experience supporting young adults. I help people with a history of trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress by providing a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive space for healing and growth. My approach integrates interpersonal neurobiology, helping clients understand how their brains and nervous systems respond to stress and trauma. Through this lens, I guide clients in developing practical strategies for emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions and discuss what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your current challenges, personal history, and goals to get a better understanding of how I can best support you. This session is a space for you to share at your own pace, and together, we’ll create a tailored plan to guide our work in future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are my trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach and my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for healing. With over a decade of experience working with young adults, I integrate interpersonal neurobiology to help clients understand how their brains and nervous systems respond to trauma, anxiety, and stress. I help clients discover the deeper patterns that affect their mental health and create tailored, evidence-based strategies—drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic practices—that empower them to build resilience, manage their emotions, and confidently move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who are navigating life transitions, trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress. My clients are high-achieving yet emotionally exhausted, wanting to heal but unsure where to start. They often feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode, struggling with emotional regulation and self-doubt. Through compassionate, trauma-informed telehealth services, I help them build the tools they need to reclaim their peace, process their experiences, and move forward with confidence.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate DBT principles into my trauma-informed approach to help my clients manage anxiety, PTSD, and stress. While pursuing formal DBT certification, I use its core skills—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—to help clients navigate overwhelming emotions, build resilience, and strengthen relationships. My culturally responsive approach ensures DBT strategies align with each client’s lived experiences, fostering self-compassion and emotional stability.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate ACT to help client navigate trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress. Using ACT’s core principles—mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values-based action—I guide clients in accepting difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and aligning actions with their values. My approach is culturally responsive, empowering clients to build resilience, self-compassion, and a sense of agency in their healing journey.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients manage trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress. Through CBT, I help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build emotional resilience. My culturally responsive approach ensures CBT techniques are tailored to each client’s lived experiences, fostering empowerment and lasting change.

Trauma Informed Care

I take a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, empowerment, and cultural responsiveness when working with clients facing trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress. I create a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment, using evidence-based techniques like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to promote healing. By recognizing the impact of systemic and intergenerational trauma, I help clients build resilience, self-compassion, and a sense of control in their healing journey.

Polyvagal Therapy

I incorporate Polyvagal Therapy to help clients regulate their nervous systems and build a sense of safety when navigating trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and stress. By using breathwork, grounding techniques, and body-based awareness, I support clients in shifting from survival responses (fight, flight, freeze) to a state of calm and connection. My approach is culturally responsive, integrating mindfulness and somatic practices to promote healing and resilience.
