New to Grow
Hello, my name is JoAnn Zerr and I have a Masters in Community Counseling and two licensures with DORA. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and also a Licensed Addiction Counselor. I enjoy connecting and helping clients gain insights, resolve trauma, and learn improved relationship skills. I have been in the feild for over 10 years and try to use research based methods of practice to help manage a wide aray of mental health issues.
I start by breifly explaining your rights as a client. I will also ask you about some presenting issues and maybe some historical background information as well to be to know you as a person. Please give me feedback if pacing or going slow is preferred or even if direct and to the point solutions are more your style as I try to be adaptive and flexible.
I think that many of my past clients and friends have told me that I am someone who is relateable to others.
I enjoy clients who show up in a vulnerable way and want to reflect, grow and seek feedback. I apprecidate people who agree to discuss presenting issues and then also allow me to take a couple of sessions to assess and gather background history so that I can offer treatment planning strategies and methods of care that I deem appropirate and applicable.
