I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in trauma work, relationships, and family dynamics. I graduated with her B.A. in Psychology with minors in Health Studies, Gender Studies, and Sociology from Monmouth University where I was also a division-1 soccer player. I then went on to earn my M.A. in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. I specifically chose this route and school because it provided a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens to looking at the various mental health challenges that we face. I am also trained in EMDR and utilize it to address trauma and performance concerns. I began my professional work with children, adolescents, and families in community mental health clinics. I found herself drawn mostly to the older adolescents in the transitional age groups and decided to pursue working in the college counseling center environment. I spent time at Coastal Carolina University working to create a relationship between the counseling center and athletics seeing the unique need of student-athletes having been one myself. I have spent the last four years at NC State University working in athletics and have enjoyed every moment of it!

First session

I hope after the first session every client leaves with a sense of hope for a better tomorrow! I gather a lot of information and work with you to decide what path we want to head in!

Strengths

My approach to session is always meeting the client where they are, this is your journey and I am here to help and support you in your goals. I always present with my authentic self and want clients to see me as a human not a robotic medical professional behind a screen!

Ideal clients

I am especially drawn to the transitional age population 18-26. Particularly those who are transitioning from high school to college or college to post-grad! I specialize in working with athletes, but am open to any type of performance needs as well. I am open to all genders, race/ethnicities, LGBTQIA+ and any other way you may show up in the world!

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and develop practical strategies for creating healthier patterns and coping more effectively.

EMDR

I use EMDR to help clients process distressing experiences and trauma, reduce the emotional impact of difficult memories, and develop healthier ways of responding to triggers.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize their existing strengths, resources, and resilience while building confidence and identifying practical steps toward their goals.

Narrative

I use narrative therapy to help clients explore the stories they have developed about themselves and their experiences, challenge unhelpful narratives, and create more empowering perspectives.

Trauma Informed Care

I use a trauma-informed approach by prioritizing safety, trust, collaboration, and client choice while recognizing how past experiences can influence current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
