9 years of experience

Hello, my name is Charlene, and I’m a compassionate and integrative dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). I earned my degrees from Johns Hopkins University and MGH Institute of Health Professions, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based care including therapy and medication management. My dual training and certification allows me to take a truly integrative approach to care, addressing both physical and emotional well-being to create a more holistic treatment experience. I am deeply dedicated to supporting clients through life’s challenges with a holistic and personalized approach. My practice blends holistic techniques like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), coaching, meditation, mindfulness, nutritional guidance, nutraceuticals, and judicious medication management. I also incorporate elements of Caribbean, Ayurvedic, and Western medicine to create a comprehensive and culturally informed path to healing. I specialize in helping adults and children navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and relational concerns. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan to support your healing, build resilience, and align your life with your values and goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I’ll take the time to deeply understand your story, goals, and concerns. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you and begin creating a customized care plan that feels authentic, effective, and comfortable. You’ll leave with clarity, a sense of direction, and tools to support your path forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. With expertise as both an FNP and PMHNP, I integrate mental and physical health to provide comprehensive, personalized care. My use of evidence-based therapies, combined with traditional practices, empowers clients to achieve meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with individuals seeking a holistic, collaborative approach to care. My ideal clients often face challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or stress-related concerns and are looking for someone who listens deeply, honors their unique needs, and offers tailored strategies. These clients value a blend of Western medicine and integrative practices that align with their values and goals.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In our work together, ACT helps us explore how to make room for difficult emotions and thoughts without letting them define you or hold you back. I’ll support you in identifying what truly matters to you and help you take meaningful steps toward a life that feels authentic and fulfilling, even when challenges arise.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With CBT, we’ll gently examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll uncover patterns that might be keeping you stuck and work toward creating new, healthier ways of thinking and responding. My goal is to equip you with practical tools that empower you to navigate life with greater confidence and ease.
