Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Masters degree from California State University, Long Beach and have over 15 years of experience working in outpatient and school-based mental health settings. I provide services that help young people, adults and families see how their feelings, thoughts, choices, and actions affect each other in order to improve their quality of life.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and me learning more about you such as, your education, career, family, support systems, and what specific challenges brings you to therapy. Learning more about you and about the specific challenges you are facing, will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with clients over the years, I have developed a trusting, therapeutic, and problem-solving approach to the specific challenges my clients are facing.
I love helping my clients gain a better understanding of their mental health and develop wellness goals. My clients are sometimes unsure what triggers lead to the unhealthy behaviors and are eager to work on gaining a better understanding of them in order to manage their feelings better.
I have utilized cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with clients for over 10 years. Through CBT, we will work on helping you identify and challenge any unhelpful thoughts and then learn practical self-help strategies.
With over 5 years of experience using strength-based therapy, it has helped many of my clients focus on their existing resources, positive qualities, then utilizing your abilities to improve your quality of life and reduce problematic symptoms.
In my over 15 years of working with children, adolescents, and families suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma, together, we will utilize CBT techniques to help modify distorted or unhelpful thinking and negative reactions and behaviors.
