Demmie Rosenberg
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and also a Registered nurse with 25 years of therapy practice. I offer telehealth services. I use a cognitive behavioral approach in working with clients as well as other approaches. I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges and I bring a warm, nonjudgmental, collaborative approach to every session. As a Registered Nurse as well as a therapist, I bring a holistic understanding of how mental and physical health connect, and I want you to feel truly heard, not just treated
First session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin to understand what brought you to therapy. We will talk about your concerns, what you hope to accomplish and talk about a treatment plan. I also want to create a space in which the client feels they can ask questions about my practice and approach.
Strengths
I believe a strength of mine is being a good listener and being warm and approachable. I give clients a safe space to process their feelings without feeling judged. I help clients recognize emotional patterns and better understand their reactions and behaviors. I hope to help clients recognize their existing abilities, resilience and capacity for growth. I help individuals and couples gain insight, navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful lasting change.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves and make positive changers in their life. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who want a collaborative therapist who will listen without judgment while also helping them develop practical tools for change. I also enjoy working with clients who need help managing stress and anxiety and help those that have symptoms of depression
Origin story
I was inspired to become a therapist because I have always been drawn to helping people, listening to their stories and the experiences that shape who they are. I wanted to create a space where people can feel understood, gain new perspectives and discover their own strengths. I am also interested in helping people navigate relational struggles, and life transitions. Being able to help individuals and couples understand themselves and one another more deeply is what continues to inspire me as a therapist.
Ongoing work together
it is beneficial for the client and therapist to make a treatment plan for goals the client has for therapy. By reviewing this the client can see the progress they are making. You may also know that you are making progress when you begin to notice changes in your everyday life. Progress does not always occur in a straight line. Sometimes a first sign of progress is becoming more aware of your thoughts, feelings and patterns
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is based on the idea that our thought, feelings and behaviors are connected. When we get caught in patterns of negative or unhelpful thinking, it can affect how we feel and how we respond to situations. In therapy we work together to identify these patterns, understand where they come from and learn healthier ways of thinking and responding. CBT is practical and goal oriented.
