My name is Alexandra Sweeney, but I go by Ally. I have been working in the field since 2018. I specialize in children/adolescents, Autism, and Eating Disorders. I like to take a relational approach with therapy: I believe that all relationships whether they are past or present are important in the therapy process. I believe it is important to understand how a person is in their familial, romantic, or platonic relationships and how this impacts the person as a whole. I use the counseling process to foster a healthy relationship and a way to create boundaries and help people be their true self in every relationship.
The first session will be an opportunity for both parties to get to know one another. There are important aspects of the intake where I will need to ask questions to get a better understanding of what brings you in for therapy, but not every session will be so formal.
I am very good at creating a safe place for clients to feel welcome in the room. I also believe I am good at working hard to connect with my clients.
I believe that each individual has needs. We as individuals has effective ways of meeting needs and ineffective ways of meeting needs. As a therapist, I enjoy assisting clients in figuring out ways to effectively meet your needs.
