In our first session together, I want to get to know each other. Learning more about your life and the issues are you facing will help me create a tailored plan to create our goals together.
Having been a client-centered therapist for years, I feel my greatest strengths are in active listening and validating my clients' feelings so we can choose how to move forward and process them.
I love working with young adults who are transitioning into new stages of life including navigating adulthood, parenthood, and new jobs. As a foster and adoptive parent, I also relate to families built from nontraditional ways. I also have a long history of helping women lose weight with behavioral changes and love reaching healthy goals!
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy allows us to explore your values and create goals towards them. By accepting your thoughts and feelings, we can mindfully develop more psychological flexibility to respond to life's changes.
Motivational interviewing can help us find your motivation towards your goals and strengthen it so you can become more self-sufficient in changing behaviors. I often use this with weight loss goals and habit changes.
