Jeanne Fazekas
Hi, Im Jeanne. A Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of JM Counseling & Wellness. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, divorce and separation, parenting stress, and major life transitions.
Find Clarity, Build Confidence and Create Meaningful Change
I understand how overwhelming life can feel when you're juggling responsibilities, managing difficult relationships, or simply trying to figure out what comes next. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together we will work toward building confidence, establishing healthy boundaries, improving relationships, and creating a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what brought you to therapy. We'll talk about the challenges you're experiencing, what you hope to gain from counseling, and any goals you'd like to work toward. I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, so my priority is creating a relaxed welcoming environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. You dont need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. Together we can identify areas to focus on and develop a plan that feels meaningful to you.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with clients and create an environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. I bring warmth, empathy, honesty, and a down-to-earth approach to each session. I believe therapy should feel like a genuine conversation rather than a clinical interview. Im willing to ask thoughtful questions, offer new perspectives and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I enjoy helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, establish healthier boundaries, and develop practical strategies they can use in everyday life. I am more than a listening ear. I cater my therapeutic approach towards each clients goals and preferred style.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their life. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. You may be navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, low self-esteem, difficulty setting boundaries, or patterns that no longer serve you. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection and willing to participate actively in the therapeutic process. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to say in therapy. My role is to meet you where you are, provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space and help you identify practical steps toward greater clarify, confidence, and emotional well-being.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you better understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how they influence on another. Sometimes we develop patterns of thinking that contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck without even realizing it. Together we will identify these patterns and explore how they affect your emotions and decisions, and work on developing healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding.
Attachment-based
I use attachment based therapy to help clients understand how their early relationships and life experiences may influence the way they connect with others today. Together we will explore patterns involving trust, emotional connection, communication, and fears of rejection or abandonment. By gaining insight into these patterns, you can begin developing healthier relationships, establishing stronger boundaries, and feeling more secure and confident in yourself and your connections with others.
