I walk beside adults and parents who are struggling with feeling alone, anxious, overwhelmed and/or overstimulated in efforts to catalyze lasting mental and physical fortitude. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), an avid neurobiology nerd, an anti-inflammatory and active lifestyle enthusiast, and a passionate advocate for merging mind, body and soul in a holistic approach to therapy. I believe the path to fulfillment lies within a strong, powerful relationship between mental health, physical wellness, and meaningful connection, and I help clients identify and develop this for themselves within their own lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

From a base of established felt safety and security, we will discuss past and current memories, held beliefs, traumas, and disparaging or ruminating thoughts that led, or still lead, you to where you are today. While we learn from these things, we will remember and nurture the power you intrinsically hold to fabricate your own realities by together formulating a tailored treatment plan for you which we will work through together in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in various environments throughout my career, I have seen and heard "it all!" I like to tell clients there is nothing they can do or say to embarrass themselves or become negatively judged by me. One of the things I enjoy most about each day is helping clients feel comfortable and at ease in their healing process.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve clients who are looking for a non-judgmental and informed therapist who does not put people in boxes, but rather views healing as a multi-faceted and individually specific road. I am trauma-informed, gender and sexual orientation affirming, and holistic in my approach to healing through counseling.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

You as the client are an important part of your own treatment team, so understanding which treatment methods are available to you and the ways they may be effective for you are important; together we can form the best treatment plan to address your specific needs and goals. I pull from a multitude of treatment modalities and techniques to tailor my therapeutic efforts towards the specific needs of each client, including: ACT, CBT, Mindfulness-based therapy, breathwork and meditation, experiential therapy, gender-affirming therapy, mind-body approach, Narrative therapy, Polyvagal theory, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and psychoeducation.

Attachment-based

Each of us come from somewhere; these places and the caregivers, as well as other major influential people we've known or still know, teach us and bring us into the knowledge, perceptions, and beliefs we hold of ourselves, our world, and the workings inside of these. When we work within Attachment, it is never to point fingers nor place blame. Rather, to gain deeper understanding of ourselves and others, in a seeking for deeper connection and/or self-awareness.

Trauma Informed Care

I have worked within inpatient psychiatric, foster care, juvenile detention, and private practice settings, cultivating experience treating trauma in a wide variety of forms. I like to tell clients that I do not "push or pull" on trauma, rather I meet you where you are at, and we traverse together at a pace that is felt to be most comfortable and safe to you.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

While EFT guides clients through identifying, processing, expressing and regulating their emotions, I also utilize the non-directive approach of Person-Centered Therapy, wherein clients are encouraged to process outwardly, leading the conversation into discovering their own personal insights and resolutions.

Somatic

I enjoy teaching clients through psychoeducation the science behind how their mental and emotional experiences may be impacting their physical wellness and experiences. We as humans are complete units, with mind, body, and spirit each connecting and therefore affecting one another. I teach clients the not only science behind their symptoms, but also techniques and strategies they may utilize to decrease their experienced symptoms and increase emotional and overall regulation.
