Zatascha Burton
I am Zatascha Burton, a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to providing informed, evidence-based care. I prioritize staying current on best practices to ensure that my clients receive the highest quality support. My practice is rooted in creating an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment—particularly for individuals within the BIPOC community and young people seeking guidance in navigating challenges such as anxiety, stress, depression, work/life balance and emotional distress. I have been licensed since 2019 and have worked in the behavioral health field since 2010. My professional experience includes serving adults and school-age youth throughout the Southeast Georgia region for more than eight years. In 2020, I expanded my work by establishing my private practice.
My primary specialization is Trauma Therapy; however, I incorporate diverse styles and techniques in a more eclectic approach based on client need.
I am deeply passionate about psychotherapy and the meaningful connections it allows me to build. My commitment stems from a genuine desire to help others feel heard, supported, and understood. I strive to offer a safe, judgment-free space where individuals from diverse backgrounds can explore their experiences, cultivate resilience, and move toward personal growth and healing.
First session
In our first session, we will focus on establishing rapport and exploring your personal history. This time allows me to learn about you while also sharing more about who I am—both as a person and as a therapist. Together, we will gather the essential information needed to begin your therapeutic journey. I will then develop a detailed treatment plan designed to guide you through the process with clarity and support.
Strengths
I am committed to supporting clients through their most challenging moments. Therapy offers a space for collaboration, insight, and meaningful change, and my role is to provide understanding, empathy, and guidance throughout that process. During our sessions, you can expect a supportive environment where your thoughts, feelings, and responses can be explored openly. This exploration helps us work effectively in the present and develop feedback and tools you can apply in your daily life. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult time or are ready to pursue new direction and growth, I am here to help. I take great pride in the progress my clients achieve and look forward to building a collaborative, trusting therapeutic relationship with you.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve adults and older adults who are seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and collaborative therapeutic experience. My work is especially well suited for individuals within the BIPOC community who may be navigating stressors related to identity, life transitions, or the emotional impact of systemic and societal challenges. I support clients who are experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, relationship concerns, or difficulties adjusting to major life changes. I also work with adults and geriatric clients who are striving to understand themselves more deeply, develop healthier coping strategies, or find clarity and direction during periods of uncertainty. Whether you’re seeking support through a challenging season, hoping to build emotional resilience, or working toward personal growth and healing, my goal is to create a safe, affirming, and empowering space where meaningful change can take place.
